If I thought I was right, I would tell you.
Seeing where we are, I will leave it up to you.
The trees all around are nearly in bloom.
Their branches reach down to watch what we know is overdue.
For I await the springtime air: so full of joy.
These winter winds have chilled me straight to the bone.
This grassy road beneath our feet will not lead me astray.
So this skeleton can rise up and walk in flesh again.
How strange it is to be anything at all.
When you are so full of love, and oh, it’s obvious I’m not.
It seems the less I claim to know, the lower my roots extend.
This reservation’s flattering, but that’s usually my stance.
If I walk six steps steeper than I fly maybe my voice has some sway.
I walk alone, but with you on my mind, maybe I can step across the sky and bring in the day…
